Motivation
My affinity with ‘changing the world’ has always been there. During my study, I got in touch with corporate social responsibility. In my opinion, companies aren’t special when they care about people and our planet, it should be completely ordinary.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The fact that corporate responsibility goes hand in hand with healthy business results, satisfied employees and a good reputation, is poorly known. It’s getting better, but there’s still a lot of work to be done! Communication is incredibly important in this process, and this is where I’d like to make a contribution.

 

Background
As an intern at Between-us during my bachelor studies, I was closely involved with the second edition of the ‘Woningcorporatie Web Monitor’ in 2009. In addition to that job, I investigated the corporate identity and image of Between-us. After graduation, I decided to continue learning and enrolled at the master study Communication and Information Sciences at Tilburg University. Here, I further specialized in business communication and digital media. For my dissertation I studied the use of social media by companies in communication on corporate responsibility.

Communicative, creative, precise..
 
What is your favorite dish?
Almost anything Italian, but I also very much enjoy Asian food or a nice ‘stamppot’ (a traditional Dutch winter dish).

 

Which book should everybody read?
‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ by Jonathan Safran Foer, simply because it is a very beautiful story.

 

What's the best advice you got?
“Just do it.” I tend to think things through for too long.

 

Tell something surprising about yourself.
I played guitar in a punk band when I was sixteen.

What are your hobbies?
• Voluntary music journalist for 3VOOR12/Breda
• Organizing cultural events
• Attending music concerts and festivals
• City trips (Berlin, New York and London are favorites, but there’s a lot more on my wish list)
• Walks on the beach in my home
• Having a good time with friends and family
