HELP WANTED: The Lean ProjectBetween-us seeks support for obesity communication research According to several researches, obesity is not perceived to be an issue that has a high priority in the eyes of the public. This however seems in contrast with the huge, but partially hidden, health impacts of the topic. Obesity has a strong proven impact on diabetes, kidney and heart failure. It is one of the greatest public health challenges of the 21st century. Obesity is already responsible for 2-8% of health costs and 10-13% of deaths in different parts of in the WHO European Region.
Between-us wants to conduct a research project in order to get overweight and obesity better on the agenda of the public through stakeholder collaboration. The ultimate goal is to find and implement communication tactics that will effectively influence parent’s and their children’s behavior and that will “get them moving”. Therefore we are looking for knowledge, cases and potential partners.
Interested? For more information please contact Josée van der Hoek at josee@between-us.nl.
